VERSE I
Too much violence goin’ on in the city beautiful
And if you take the wrong step, ain’t no tellin’ what they might do to you.
Over territory, scuffed shoes, they think of shootin’ you,
Gang violence leadin to funerals, it’s the usual
Stories of murder, every night on the news,
People goin’ through the same thing, divide into crews,
And make worse what’s already bad, so they can dominate,
Move a lot of weight, they rarely put their glock away,
Cause it’s out doin’ wrong, jeopardize you and yours,
You fear for ya safety, so if you witness, you just move along
Another unsolved murder, nobody steps up.
Even though they fed up, they scared they might get wet up…

HOOK
Put the weapons away, it’s time to take the hood back.
Change ya way of life, face forward, don’t look back,
We killin’ our own, violence ain’t the answer.
If you agree, stand up and throw ya hands up

VERSE II
Imagine, if every violent person stopped killin,
Made the streets safe for men, women and children
Innocent, adolescent and senior citizen,
And everyone in between, no danger imminent
Just peace of mind everyday and let me say,
Livin’ in the hood wouldn’t be such a deadly game
But it ain’t like that is it? It’s more explicit,
Don’t want ya kids to go outside and be a witness
People, we need to stop this madness,
If you think there’s crime on the streets, yo, believe me, it’s happinin’
We can’t raise our kids here, it’s hard enough to live here,
Stand up and speak out and make this clear!

HOOK (Repeat x4)
