#1. THE CONTEST.
Create an original hip-hop song containing a message against gangs and/or gun crime and/or
promoting a message of: step-up, speak-out when witnessing crime in your community.
This message must be clearly stated in the lyrics/rhymes of your original hip-hop song.
Music or back beats are not required for entry.
#2. THE RULES.
All entries must be accompanied by an official "Rap Against Violence"
contest entry form. You must attach a printed or typed copy of the lyrics to your entry. You must place your name and phone number on the CD or tape. All entries must be original work. The entries will be judged on the following criteria: 1) the message against gangs
and/or gun crime and/or promoting a message of: step- up, speak-out when witnessing
crime in your community; 2) originality; 3) creativity; 4) concept; 5) presentation. Music or back beats are not required for entry. Winners will record their original song
utilizing legal "beats" created by the winner or provided by the studio. Entry must contain a message against gangs and/or gun crime and/or promoting a message
of: step-up, speak-out when witnessing crime in your community. This message must
be clearly stated in the lyrics. Keep your entry clean. Any foul language or lyrics promoting violence will immediately
disqualify your entry. All entries must be submitted between September 18, 2006 and January 31, 2007. Early or
late entries will not be accepted.You may submit more than one entry but only one winning song per person will be
allowed. The State Attorneys Office and 102 JAMZ reserve the right to disqualify any
entries at their discretion. Winners will be required to consent to a criminal background
check. Pending criminal charges, extensive criminal history or prior violent criminal
background may, at the discretion of the State Attorneys Office, 18th Judicial
Circuit disqualify you. As an entrant, you represent and warrant that your entry is wholly original and does
not incorporate or include anything that is owned by any third party and does not violate
any copyright, trademark, publicity right or any other right of any third party. All entries and other submitted material become the property of State Attorneys
Office, 18th Judicial Circuit and will not be acknowledged or returned. If selected as a finalist, you will be required to sign a release. Parents or guardians
will have to sign for finalists under the age of 18. Winners will be contacted via telephone and mail. If a winner cannot be contacted, is
ineligible, fails to claim the prize, or fails to return a completed release form, they
automatically forfeit the prize. If forfeited, the entry will remain the property of the
State Attorneys Office, 18th Judicial Circuit and another winner will be selected. As a winner, you acknowledge that the State Attorneys Office has the right to,
without further authorization, publicize your name, character likeness, biographical
information, photograph, voice, and the fact that you are a winner of the "Rap
Against Violence" contest for promotional purposes without financial remuneration
into perpetuity. If any winner is found in violation of the rules, he/she may be required to forfeit
his/her prize. The State Attorneys Office, 18th Judicial Circuit reserves the right to make rule
or contest changes without notice at anytime. The State Attorneys Office, 18th
Judicial Circuit reserves the right to change the aforementioned dates without notice. By
participating, persons agree to be bound by the decisions of the State Attorneys
Office, 18th Judicial Circuit, the Judges and the official contest rules.
#3. HOW TO ENTER.
During September 18 through January 31, 2007, drop off your pre-recorded
original hip-hop song at the following locations:

FOR YOUR USE AT NO CHARGE.
#4. THE PRIZE.
10 winners will be chosen from all entries to be featured in a public service campaign and
aired on 102 JAMZ and local TV. Winners will be provided transportation at a pre-arranged date, site and time and taken
to and from a professional recording studio. Winners will record their original hip-hop
song using legal "beats" created by the winner or provided by the agency to then
be used in Operation Cease-Fires "RAP AGAINST VIOLENCE" campaign aired on
102 JAMZ and TV. Winners will receive a copy of the professionally recorded tracks.
#5. DISCLAIMERS AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY.
This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations. The State Attorneys
Office, 18th Judicial Circuit accepts no responsibility or liability in connection with
any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance of
any prize awarded hereunder. Winners will be required to sign a liability release and will agree to hold Infinity
Broadcasting Corporation, WJHM, their corporate licensees, parent corporations, affiliated
companies and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives
of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or
indirectly from the contest/promotion of prize.
Employees, members, suppliers, or related parties and their families, are not eligible
to win. We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that
we collect about you lawfully. |
